The article on the main page about "heritage" Roadfood Restaurants still open mentions People's Restaurant as open under a new name.

The new restaurant in the old People's location is called Boswell's. From their website (www.boswellsrestaurant.com) they don't seem to have any connection with People's and their menu does not seem similar to the People's menu. Nobody has rated the new place for Zagat's and on Urban Spoon, only one person out of four liked it (none of the four posted a review). Anyway, the menu doesn't look like Roadfood.

I suspect that it was closed for several months before anybody noticed; my wife and I used to visit the area about once a year, and every time we tried to go to People's Restaurant, it was closed. We finally made it there sometime in the mid 90's.

That's right. It was sold, and there is a different restaurant at that location.

The reason it went out of business is pretty horrible. The owner was charged with corruption of a minor. He admitted having sex with a 16 year old girl over a 9 month period in the restaurant.

Yes it is definitely closed.

I was doing research for my upcoming roadtrip which will take me through Pennsylvania and also found out that The People's Restaurant is no longer in business- I believe they went out of business about a year ago or so.

I was looking at the preview of the new edition of Roadfood on Amazon and I notice People's Restaurant is listed. I've seen it in earlier editions and it's been on my "bucket list" of places to visit. It is NOT listed on this website and I went to Google Maps and they say the place is out of business. Does anybody know for sure whether People's Restaurant is still open?
