I doubt that it is the real thing. Spanish and Italian cured hams are one of the most stringently controlled export items and if you go to this website and buy a leg of Jamon Serrano, you've been had.
Re:Kobe beef steaks ( Wagyu steaks) (Root-Beer Man)

As a former resident of Kobe, I can attest to the articles claims. I've had a couple of meals of this "faux-be" beef and Wagyu at a couple of different places. It wasn't even remotely like Kobe beef from Japan. It might have been a prime cut (doubtful, though), but it lacked in every area that makes Kobe beef what it is. Don't buy the hype and laugh off these imitators. Don't waste your money.
Re:Kobe beef steaks ( Wagyu steaks) (kevincad)

fishtaco

One of the biggest food scams ever.

And a darned expensive one, too!
Re:Kobe beef steaks ( Wagyu steaks) (fishtaco)

One of the biggest food scams ever.
Re:Kobe beef steaks ( Wagyu steaks) (Rabkin)

You should read these articles: http://www.forbes.com/sit...e-great-kobe-beef-lie/
Kobe beef steaks ( Wagyu steaks) (Samsummers)

Man nothing beats Kobe beef steaks or "Wagyu steaks" i got some from Kobemidwest.com for Xmas and man was I blown away they were awesome and the Kobe rib eyes were only $26 a lb not bad for premium kobe they also have some great easy Kobe recipes they ship right to your door I think their based in Springfield, mo area.
