Thanks for this. I've been meaning to do a Philly trip to sample a few hoagies, and P&S's looks like a winner. I'm actually not a huge fan of the White House Italian sub. The bread and toppings are good, but I find the meat to be inferior. It's also cut too thick. I'll stick to cheesesteaks or turkey at White House from now on.

I see P & S and the first thing that came to mind is "pain and suffering" sorry, its the claims adjuster in me!

I've been to most of the places on your Philly list, but will put Philip's and Nick's on the top of my list for next visit.

Your report shows there's a wealth of great (and undiscovered) eating on the west side of Broad Street. Well done!!

Great looking food...and notice some of the good stuff was from AC in New Jersey, not Philly...the BEST thing about philly is the food,,,,,,but oh a trip to NYC would be three times as long...sure enjoyed your trip...thanks for a fun ride!!!!

Great report! I've been to Philly on several day trips (it's about a 1 1/2 hour drive for me) and I thought I did a lot lot of eating on them, but man, you outdid me by a mile!

I've been to most of the places you went to, but it's taken me several years. You basically did them in a long weekend! A couple of the places are new to me, and I'm going to add them for my next day trip.

It's always a treat to read your reviews. Great pix, well organized, and I always feel like I can trust your recommendations. I've only done a stopover in Philly, but now I want to make special trip, thanks to your report. The city should hire you on as an official food tourism ambassador.
