I went there with ayersian (Chris & Amy) back in April 2011 and loved it. Though we did just stand by the counter and share one sandwich, dipped in broth as we had numerous other stops that day. I think next time I'll go and sit at a table to savor it more and get the full dining experience!

The roast beef sandwiches here are really, really good. Get it dipped in the broth, messy but so good. If you go be advised it's cash only.

There's another in Rockville Centre. Used to be an outpost of the one in Brooklyn.

I don't know how I missed that place when I was living up north.

Nice writeup in today's NY Times about Brennan & Carr's, the anachronistic Hot Roast Beef stand on Avenue U in Brooklyn. I haven't been in a few years, but a few people have told me it seems to have gone a little downhill lately. Not according to the Times:
