Thanks Russ,
I'm a newbie to this site but have listened to The Splendid Table for quite some time. This is how I found out about Road Food. Coney Island has so many stories around it that I thought it would be a great story for them to investigate. I know the bank had policy for the tellers to not eat them at lunch as the onions and chili sauce was so aromatic it kinda takes over the environment , in a good way- a real good way . They just posted a map for folks to pin where they are from and where they take frozen bags to, my sister brought me a bag to the mountains of north Carolina one year and I could tell as soon as they got out of the van!

Been there since 1947 and has served genrations tasty hamburgers and hotdogs featuring an iconic chili sauce second to none. They recently replaced their grill and it was the talk of the town as it is the heart of the town. When I waas young they were 6 for a buck but times change.
