Pittsburg really is a good little place. I highly recommend people traveling between Nashville and 'Nooga swing by.
Re:"Circumnavigating Alabama" (Davwud)

Heartbreaksoup

We have directions printed and everything's ready to go, thanks. We're going to Little Paul's, one of the Gibson's, Mary's in Gurley and Tate's in Scottsboro.

There is a chance, however, that on our much-more nebulous trip to Nashville (mainly US-41 at a *very* lazy pace and stopping wherever), we might get to stop at that Dixie Freeze in South Pittsburg that you featured at the Food Court a few years ago.

little Paul's is a favourite of ours. Danielle (Paul's wife) is really nice and always has time to tlalk food. I highly recommend the turkey.

I'm not sure if you saw it or not but I blogged about this place.
http://davwudsfoodcourt.b...-for-hunger-pangs.html

DT
Re:"Circumnavigating Alabama" (Foodbme)

The most poignant statement you make in your whole post is: "Rural Alabama is criminally underrepresented on this site."
Having lived in Nashville & Pensacola, I had numerous occasions to sneak across the state line and eat in some good no-name joints serving great soulfood & BBQ. Unfortunately that was quite a while ago and at that time I wasn't into a Roadfood mentality and didn't make notes and record the names of places.
Re:"Circumnavigating Alabama" (Heartbreaksoup)

We have directions printed and everything's ready to go, thanks.
