As long as they were going to sprinkle their list with a few Roadfood-type places, where are Stroud's, Prince's, and Wilber's?

I don't know when Ed Mitchell left, but I went to The Pit last year, after the Glee Club meeting, when everyone else left town. It was OK, but if we're looking for a random BBQ joint, from a random city to put on this list, I would argue that Pappy's Smokehouse in STL would get my pick before The Pit...and well before Arthur Bryant's.

The Travelin Man

First, I like that the list didn't just force you to view one of those stupid slideshows.

Oh, I hate those slideshows. Typically, I look at two or three and lose interest.

As for the list, it was a little surprising to see The Pit in Raleigh on here. I haven't heard very many good things about the place since Ed Mitchell left.

Interesting, eclectic list. Someting for everybody. And every wallet.

You have to admire the cajones of an editor who would rank Franklin's BBQ ahead of The Inn at Little Washington!

Other than it being more than a little NYC-centric there's not much to argue about with their approach.

Just for giggles, I'd like to see a list of the "101 Best Restaurants NOT located in The City".

That's about the nicest thing I can say about that list. The inclusion of Arthur Bryant's on any best of list - country-wide - makes me question the entire list.
