It's definitely a real place as my Google search turned up a blog post about it, but this was several weeks back and I'm apparently misremembering the name. MeTV is now back to the beginning of "Cannon" so I'll see the episode again in a couple of months or so.

You're probably right about it being in southern CA. The post I found featured comments from several people bemoaning how much the city's grown since the '60s and '70s, but I can't remember the name of the city, either!

Nope...

"Inland cities" can cover a lot of territory...Redding to El Centro...

Most likely in Southern Calif because it's cheaper for the production companies down there in Gollywood to shoot as close to homebase as possible...

Have you tried googling it...???

Remember that the place names in film & Tv are often ficticious...

Brakke's Inn was a restaurant, bar, and hotel along a highway outside ~~one of the inland cities~~ Lancaster and it was torn down in 2009. I actually found a page about it a few weeks ago as it was featured in an episode of "Cannon" but now I'm drawing a blank. Do these sparse clues ring any bells with anyone?
