Kix cereal used to be a good choice, but I have found that sometime over the decades, they have changed the formula to make it a bit sweeter (and it seems to have a thin coating that I don't remember, either).

You can also by plain puffed corn cereal in health food stores or the "healthy" section of the supermarket (Arrowhead Mills makes one).

Thanks for the fast reply! Yes I am indeed seeking cheese free corn based snacks, it's funny that you mentioned Tings because I just recently bought them at Vons since they almost taste like cheeseless cheetos :) I tried putting some of my custom seasonings on them but found that they already had a relatively strong nutritional yeast taste and a decent amount of sodium already added. I'll definitely look through those stores you mentioned for those products but would still like to find plain corn based snacks if they exist.

There are also other butter-flavored imitation popcorn brands besides the Corn Puffs, usually available in discount stores like Big Lots, Deals, Dollar Tree, Dollar General and Family Dollar, sometimes made in a "popcorn" shape and sometimes in a ball shape
