You are fairly close to Harrisburg, Elizabethtown, Hummelstown, Middletown and Lebanon. There's good PA-Dutch food and its less touristy than Amish area in Lancaster County. First, you must get a taste of Lebanon bologna while you are there. Big pretzel, cold cuts, beer area.

...or you could go to near by Amish country and visit that beautiful area...great for kids and adults. Many posts on this site talk of things to do there and great places to eat!

Hershey is pretty touristy, as you might expect.
Two interesting suiggestions in nearby Harrisburg.
The Jackson House (open for lunch only) has outstanding burgers and hoagies.On North 6th.
Subway Cafe on Herr Street is an Old School italian bar with good red-sauce items and very good tavern pizza.
Jackson house gets very crowded and there is often a wait, probably not good if you have small kids.

Where are you staying?
If you're not staying there, a visit to the historic Hotel Hershey is a must for a Chocolate Martini, if nothing else!
