Some folks here are way TOO quick to jump on another person...they act like web site nazi's...In the past a few people were behaving that way with me in a thread about road trips and favorite places to eat, and after complaining to the Moderators they either shut up, got banned, were cyber castrated, or left to be miserable somewhere else...
Yes, insurance prices not only vary from state to state, but so do the coverage offered and or required, (I Calif it's controlled by the Insurance Commissioner, an elected political office), and yes, each insurance company MUST be registered in whatever state they intend to do business in, and have a designated representative in order to serve legal process papers on...

I bought a cart 300 miles away weekend before last. My insurance agent with American Family Insurance gave me a dozen reasons why he could not insure me right then and there. He said it would take 5 or 6 days.

I called an agent with Farmers who took all of the info on the phone on the way to get the Cart. That nite at the motel, it was Thursday, everything was in my email for me to sign and accept the insurance. The premium is under $300 and covers damage to my cart also. This is in Western Colorado and I had to tow the cart 300 miles over the "Continental Divide.

All i use is 8-1 skinless everybody loves them all we get is people saying how good our dogs are.We were voted best hot dog in nj last yr on wdha radio.People also say are dogs are bigger then the other guys they have been too.Makes them feel like they are getting more for there money.They called the 10-1 toothpicks.

I use Sabrett they are a big hot dog in NY and NJ i use the 8-1 They cost me $15.25 for 40 hot dogs at resturant depot.But they always put them on sale for $13.25 for 40 dogs. What dogs are you slinging? And do you do slaw dogs i tried them here can't get them to catch on i think they are great.

Hey bud, best wishes to you. I'm curious about your response to the 8-1 skinless. I couldn't even use the 10-1 sabrett natural casing because the casing was too thick. My dogs are super hot @190 degrees and people were biting but not cutting. A few light hot dog stings as a result. So I roll with the traditional NYC 11-1 and everyone tells me how perfect they are. I'm 13 mo into business and the numbers consistently go up, so I believe them.

But I know a guy who made millions in 10yrs with the big Thuman dogs. At his peak he was doing 4000 dogs/wk! I tried the 8-1 Sabrett skinless at a few events and no one remarked. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

That was pretty clear what you were doing, RJT. Fooled you, didn't he.

If you were refering to the fact that his inital post looks and smells of SPAM (someone even flagged it as such (not me)) and I was checking his oil you are correct. Did he fool me? Not really considering in about 5 min or less of searching you can find the info he left on the net and even on this site with the search function. So no, he didnt "fool me".

Maybe he is legit and slings dogs and just wanted to post up to help other vendors maybe he is the insurance agent trying to get his name out there, who knows. IMO the first post out of the gate being an advertsiment smells a littkle funny considering the rate that was quoted is not really a deal. Also, alot of insurance cant be written across state lines unless they have offices in your state or a lic to sell in your state so that makes it tough to do business.

I have been slinging for 2 yrs now tried to put up a picture but don't see anyway to do it.
I think the insurance price changes by where you live.I am in Jersey so everything is expensive here.I had other prices from 700-1600 so 505 is cheap

What did they charge? Give us a ball park figure...I'm guessing it might vary from state to state. I know I'll need to get some insurance. Is it just a liability type or? So I'm covered in case someone chokes on a hot dog, etc?
