Needless to say I found the bourbon selection greater in Kentucky and bought a bottle of Maker's 46 that my local liquor store doesn't carry but is available in Minnesota.

In Indiana I order breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches.

In Kentucky I ordered the Hot Brown at one of the oldest taverns, the Old Talbott Tavern (1779) in Bardstown.

Hot browns and tenderloins are available in Minnesota but are rare and not the same.

I didn't make it to Tennessee my last trip but in West Virginia my cousin gave me a package pepperoni rolls to take with. They look like a package of hot dog buns but pepperoni is baked inside.
Re:Regional Specialites - IN, KY & TN (easydoesit)

While in Chatanooga a year ago, the hotel clerk suggested a barbecue place called Hillbilly Willys. It's a bare bones little hole in the wall inside a small strip mall, and the food was great! Their slogan is Make-er saucey.

www.hillbillywillys.com
Re:Regional Specialites - IN, KY & TN (carlton pierre)

Bring back some Moon Pies and RC Colas from Chattanooga. I believe they're both made there and you'll find in any grocery.
Regional Specialites - IN, KY & TN (mousec)

I'm taking a road trip to Chattanooga over the July 4th week. Since I will be driving I would love to be able to bring back regional specialties that I cannot easily obtain in the Chicagoland area. For example, I love BBQ sauce, beer, soda, etc. I already know that I am going to pick up a few cases of Ale 8 in KY. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks...
