me personally, i grab the lye out of the dishwasher, water it down a bit....make sure you wear gloves and DO NOT get it on your skin. Then take a scraper and it will look like brand spanking new

scalding water melts that yellow grease EXACTLY like 'hot' butter. once its melted use any dawn or degreaser that mentioned above and it wipes off, no scraping, no chiseling, no razor blades and best of all NO wasted time. ive used a soldering torch too to heat it up amd its just melts and runs off but that also takes a lil longer.

remember these 6 words, scal - ding - pres- sure - wa - sher. i promise its the best money youll ever spend cleaning. squeeky clean in under 10 mins. no cancer causing chemicals absorbed through the skin, no pia scrubbing.

I've wrapped aluminum foil around mine for years and usually can get away with it being on there for a few days. I remove it and no scraping required. Some people might say that it's cost prohibitive. Factor in the costs associated with cleaning the gummy mess up and you might find it cheaper to wrap them up. Prevention is always cheaper in the long run :) Just my humble opinion is all.

Oven cleaner (easyoff); ... Or if the equipment is easy moved, load it in the truck, go to a car-wash and used the pressure washer for 75 cents. then put easyoff on the very stubborn grease at the car-wash. ... Just bought used equipment, stop at the car-wash on the way home.

RD still sells real oven cleaner in a spray can, it"s pretty strong, it would also work to strip your deck. My opinion is that and a scraper would do it. Been using 409 lately with good success and little residue left for light stuff.

when I bought my equipment used at an auction it has some of this stuff all over the sides. I am now pulling everything out and cleaning it before inspection, Who knows how long this stuff has been caked on there. I'll give it a whirl !!! thanks everyone

the degreasers sold at sams i've found are very good with a good scraper.. just keep spraying it on follow with a good scrubby, look as good as new. i use on my fryer once a week.

i sold equipment a few yrs ago and the ONLY good way to do it fast and easy is use a pressure washer with HEAT. hotsy totsy pressure washers can be rented and work majic on stuff thats caked on. also go to nearest appliance part store or hvac parts dealer and ask for a coil cleaner. put it in a bug sprayer and mix according to directions, maybe a lil stronger. spray the equipment, let sit 1 hour and then presure wash with scalding water. this is the only way to do it the easy way, other option is call someone with a heated pressure washer and get a cold coors light and observe. good luck

Low-moisture steam vapor.

It will come off quickly without chemicals near your food or self...no scraping or scrubbing. Never a risk with the HD...and you can't say that about most of the solutions.

is a good degreaser. Use with scraper above and wash thoroughly after use to remove residue. Toxic stuff!
Use in a well ventilated area. Strong fumes. Not sure how it reacts on different metals.
