Thanks, Paul. The hot dog was 40 feet long. The staff at Vienna Beef custom built a 42 foot , modular, charcoal grill, with special tools to place the dog on the grill and roll it into a bun. I was at the practice session on Tuesday, where they fired up the grill, cooked the dog, and rolled it into a bun. The two minutes on the Conan O"Brien Show took days of construction and practice and was well worth the effort. I'm proud to be part of the Chicago style hot dog culture. Give me a shout when you're in Chicago.

CSD: Congrats on the hardwork you guys obviously have done and to showcase it like you did with national exposure made it certainly worth the effort.

I am retired now but I use to fly through O'Hare almost weekly. I wish I did on occasion nows as I miss the true Chicago style dog with the real emeral green relish.

It must have been a huge sausage to require a semi to haul it through Chicago.

He's still the consummate Schmuck but the Hot Dog Shtick was OK.. Not cool just leaving it lie on the floor. Should have donated it to a shelter.

Vienna Beef will be featuring the world's largest Chicago style hot dog on the Conan O'Brien Show tonight. This one of a kind mega dog was transported through the city of Chicago earlier today by an extra long semi trailer truck, led by a police escort. The dog was grilled on a specially designed and built charcoal grill, dressed with all the authentic Chicago condiments, and gently nestled into a single bun on site, before being hand presented to Conan.
