St.Louis is a very fine choice as that's close to back home for me! But might I suggest for future reference Miami or the Key West both very good choices.

I would imagine we might be centering around the New Haven area - all the summer lobster/clam shacks on the shore, New Haven pizza, and the southwestern CT hot dog mecca are all convenient to that area more so than Hartford. Keep us posted on pre- post dining - depending on what folks are up for we have a few local joints to recommend depending on where the trip is centered.

CC, there are quite a few threads about tours in NYC that you might find helpful. I think the trick is to take the parts of those local trip reports and cobble together a tour full of all the things that are the most interesting to you. I was going to include links to some of my NYC reports but my computer here at work won't let me for some reason. If you need any advice on putting something together for NYC, just shoot me a PM, I'd be glad to help!

Billyboy - Harry's is a terrific seasonal drive-in/walk-up roadside joint in Colchester. Amazing grilled burgers and dogs, ice cream, etc. We are big fans and although it's about a 45 minute drive, we try to go 3-4x a season for a fix. Chances are we may not get there on the tour since it's a bit off the beaten path, but it's totally worth a stop or a detour if time allows. It's just a little strange not to see anything listed from Roadfood regarding self-guided tours for NYC and NJ other than the Pizza tour when this area is so rich and proud in regard to the traditional offerings of Roadfood. Maybe it would inspire more locals to participate on this site. There are millions.

There's plenty in the Roadfood database and I really hope to see something soon. It really was like hitting the lottery happy days when I saw <<<Hoboken>>> listed on the front page.

You really have done a terrific job through the years to showcase the Roadfood of this area....as a local enjoying Roadfood locally.

Since this is our stomping grounds, and we have searched out many of the Stern's CT postings, I expect the weekend would bring many repeats for us. That being said, you can NEVER have too much Pepe's, or Blackie's, or Harry's! Looking forward more details!

Heck of a note. lleechef and I will be on a boar hunting trip with the Mayor and Janet a couple of weeks previous to the Connecticut tour, and we'd planned to continue to Oklahoma to visit my son following that. Still, we just might be able to make it. As a Nutmegger I can never get enough of Connecticut.
