What a really great trip and report. The descriptions and pictures on the train and from everywhere else were terrific. I don't know about you Bill. I find it difficult to believe that a guy from Bridgeport would let his own granddaughter put catsup on a hot dog. I mean, if you'd taken her to Jerry's would you let her put cinnamon on her apizza?

Our last day in Boston, the last day of a wonderful vacation. We got going early, had another great buffet breakfast and we were on our way walking around the city. We saw a few old cemeteries on the bus tour, we walked up to see them and get a closer look.

The early days of cemetery stones were Scull & Crossbones, in the late 1600's and 1700's they changed it to a Scull with wings. The stones in the early days were telling the people viewing their stone. " Remember me as you pass by, as you are now so was I, As I am now so you will be, Prepare for death and follow me. As time goes by we changed the stones, they stopped telling us and reminding us that we are going to die and should make our peace with God while we still have time. The Scull was replaced with a Angels head, now looking like we are all flying up to heaven.

Paul Revere was in a Cemetery up the road, along with a few other people you may know.

Ok, lets get off the dieing kick, back to the living, We walked to Quincy market, the food court is great.I got a slice of mushroom pizza at.

This cut Sicilian style pizza

a seafood take out display at the food court

when I was growning up these were called Stuffed and baked clams. Clams Casino are made different. Clams Casino are raw clams with a bit of seasoned bread crumbs mixed with minced onion and bell pepper and spices topped with a small piece of bacon then broiled until the bacon is crisp. The clam is eaten in one bite, eating the whole clam along with the seasoned topping. I can only and move on. this what they called Calms casino..

I am so glad you got over to Yankee Lobster Fish Market!! Also glad you got to see the tall ships. I used to go and see them every year (I lived about 10 mins. away from that area). You made me so homesick for Boston!

My wife is half Irish and she also puts ketchup on her corned beef. Must be some sort of socio-anthro-genetic thing.

Day two Boston, it is going to be a hot day today, we walked across the street and there is a on the corner. $92 for 3 people, two days, 9AM to 6PM, with free tickets to the Harvard Museum of Natural History, (I always wanted to go to Harvard) the Museum would have been $26 and the tour also included a for a tour of the Harbor. Hey, $92, there is no way Mollie is going to walk around Boston when its 97 degrees outside. The bus was great, we sat back, took the 2 1/2 hr narrated tour around Boston. We did the Duck splash later in the day when it was hotter, 45 minutes nice and cool in the Harbor. This was a match made in heaven, me, a breeze, shade, and nice soft padded seats. This tour was a hop on hop off, to me it was a hop on stay on. Mollie and Joyce loved the tour, we did the Mesume the next day, and toured a bit more on the bus. We went to Legal Seafood, right across the street from the Hotel, Like I said, it's 97 degrees, hotter than Hell, I'm thinking cold beer, and chilled seafood.
Ice cold Little neck clams, I ordered 1/2 a doz, I could have eaten 3 doz, what the heck am I thinking, God they were good and cold and fresh.

Joyce had the Stuffed shrimp..........when I took this picture, I had one hand on the camera, leaning over mollie almost falling off the chair, yes, its a bit blurry. I could have lied and said I took it on the train.

Mollie had a hot dog, I think its number 185 this week and counting

It was hot, did I tell you guy's how Dam hot it gets in Boston. after a few cold beers I was fine. I figured a nice Caesar salad.

Oh ya, Lobster roll, nice and cool, great idea

Legal Seafood really kicks the food out, our food was good and hot/cold and like I said, right across the street. We went back to the hotel for a evening of swimming, Mollie liked this idea and swam until she was tired.
The next day, our last full day in Boston. Breakfast is a pleasure, the Buffet is the same everyday, good by me, I like it just the way it is.
We got the bus at 9 AM, did a few stops, saw a few things and went over to the Harvard Museum. We all liked the museum, nice way to spend a Sunday morning. Mollie belongs to a local rock club, they had a big display of Rocks, she was in seventh heaven. The tall ships were in dock for the 4th of July, they were a great site to see.

We got back to the hotel took a walk over to Dirgun Park in Fenuil Hall Marketplace for dinner.
Joyce had the Clam chowder and a salad.

and the Boston Baked beans..I haven't had these in yrs.

The meal also came with corn bread. It only took the waitress a 1/2 hr before she told me I was a pain in the a-s, Not bad for a Irish joint. I asked her how the Indian pudding was, she said she would bring me a sample. I asked where the ice cream was, she said don't push your luck, I like this place. The Indian pudding was good, you guys are right its needs Ice Cream with ever bite. I was full after the meal, so the sample was fine.............Two good full days in Boston, Great town, nice people.
Tomorrow is our last day, our flight is at 6:30 PM so we have a full day to tour a bit more, and the gals want to shop..........see ya in the morning... Oh Ya, I almost forgot, on our way back to the hotel, Mollie had hot dog #186.

This is the reason why we could never eat at Louis Lunch, in New Haven, Ct. how could this kid not eat something without ketchup.
