Not sure if that's the actual recipe they use (I doubt they use Betty Crocker )
But, I CAN confirm that mayonnaise is the "secret" ingredient in the cake. From what I have heard the recipe came from Dick Portillo's daughter.

Dude. Portillo's is on that list. Their chocolate cake is so good, I've never bothered with their food.

Yea, it's another list, but before you get your tighty whitie's all bunched up, it's just a partial list so don't get bent out of shape just because your favorite joint isn't on here. It's just places the author has been in the first six months of this year. He's just saying that they exist.
The thing I like about this list is it's not a re-hash of all the places that have been on every list and TV show in the world. No Hot Doug's mentioned. I've never seen any of these on any lists or TV shows. Some of you Chitown locals may know them but I'd bet most of us don't. So, enjoy without judgement & condemnation.
