Maybe Hill Country will just buy up the block that sits in-between the two stores and make it into a Texas-sized fried chicken/BBQ/pie shake theme park.

I will try the smoked wings if I can...

Pick up an Apple cheddar pie cup at HC Chicken and a fried pimento cheese sandwich...run it over to HC BBQ and have them zap the pie into a shake with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream!

Maybe it's easier to pick up the wings...but I don't think HC Chicken uses Blue Bell ice cream.

I smoke my wings to 75% done, cool them, finish them in the fryer, as ordered, sauce them, they have a great rub on them already, then serve with Ranch or Blue Cheese, I don't cut the tips. Yeah, they are good!

We have a few places around here that do smoked chicken wings. I love regular buffalo style, but you can't beat a good smoked wing with a nice spicy bbq sauce.

Nope, smoked wings are only available at the bar after 10, or on wednesdays for "wingin it wednesdays". I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be on a wednesday!

Yeah, the wings at HC are broken in 2 sections and missing the wing tips. They have this amazing dry rub that's sweet and spicy, with hints of paprika and chili.

A delicious shake for lunch...makes it sound ok!

It's funny. No pie at HC BBQ. No smoked wings at HC Chicken.

Mmmm!!! Pie shake! (drool). I love their pies but as for the rest of the menu I've tried so far it feels like the kind of place I really want to like but just don't.

Welcome to Roadfood, jimBoSF! Love Hill Country too but have never tried the smoked wings. I'll have to check them out. I grew up in Central NY and while it's not Buffalo it is certainly buffalo wing country! The combination of crispy, meaty wings and a hot and tangy sauce just speaks to me as it does for millions of others (especially on Game Day!). Were the wings at HC whole wings are broken into two sections?

I was in NY last week and had the smoked wings at Hill Country... OMG these were maybe the best chicken product to ever enter my mouth. I really loved the smokey sweet flavor. How did buffalo wings get so popular??
