Was it scary? I doubt it but yes (for both my Father & me)...and long. He pinned it all on me.

My Mother said ..."ya both gonna be scared" She was right.

It burned down many years ago...and I usually think about it during this time of the year.

I found it at the Shoprite of Matawan. We are usually free of Delight in Hudson County. I can stock up this week...since I have the honor of babysitting bulldogs.

Thankfully dry cleaners are still here.

Gathering Mussels at the shore for free. For some reason, in the 50's and 60's, Mussels weren't as popular as they are today and the jetties of Cape Cod would be covered with them, ready to slash your bare feet to shreds. Now that they have become gourmet items, those rocks are picked clean.

Sort of like the story that the prisoners in Maine in the 1800's rioted because they got sick and tired of being served lobster almost every day....seems noone wanted the bottom feeders back then.

The Road Race in my hometown......when it started as 5 probably still hung-over bartenders running the 5 miles from Woods Hole to Falmouth heights...and then promptly dropping in a nearby place to celebrate with a beer. Now, the race is sponsored, TV cameras, International Runners........And you can't move for about 4 days thru most of the town. Thank Gawd I don't live there anymore

And The Strawberry Festival Parade, where it seemed 1/2 the town would turn out, work like the dickens on floats........with the only prize a day of community spirit

I still perfume my love letters but I don't mail them. That would defeat the purpose. So I'm there with the perfume and the letter with the perfume is there. I guess I could leave...but that would defeat the purpose.

I will miss the Margaritas at the Acapulco in Westwood. The first time I was there a big giant Howard the Duck head was right across the street...for the opening of that blockbuster movie!!!

I really think they still have those photo booths. You probably have to insert bills into them to make them work. And of course, they are digital.

Anyone remember the Pusher Machines in the casinos?

Slot machines where the arms actually worked and didn't just actuate an electric switch?

Dawn thank you so much for remembering the photo booth. I had some lovely photos taken after running yesterday...that will be stitched together with my 1976 picture. It only costs $1.99 for a sheet to be mailed from Pocketbooth. I will be blackmailed for much more than that. Ohhh...you look so cute! Uh huh.

I have a sweater I still wear...knitted for me by my G/F in Junior Year of High School. Only need one little moth hole patched (LOL.and yes.it still fits!..sort of!). Since my 50th reunion comes up in 5 years, I hope to be wearing it then.Saw her a few years back at a funeral and told her I still had it.............LOL.she had completely forgotten she did it.
