Gostillerz beat me to the post about Five Alive. Although, I usually dilute the concentrate with three full cans to get the most out of it. Even so, it only lasts me about a day, at most. It's so addictive!

Every now and then I will go back to a habit of years ago and eat (not drink) a 12 oz can of frozen OJ. Sort of like a concentrated slushy, until near the end, when it melts before I can get to it... Then the liquid concentrate gets mixed with something else !

Al, the latter part sounds ideal to me

Mr Mayor,
I don't know where I got the recipe, but we have always called it Orange Julius. I bought a real Orange Julius some time after we began making them at home and didn't like it at all. The homemade was much better.

I haven't made an Orange Julius in years, but I do recall the ingredients:
Orange Juice
Ice
Simple Syrup
Instant vanilla pudding

My recollection is that you filled the blender with ice, added orange juice to the 1/3 point, put in simple syrup to taste and a teaspoon of the instant vanilla pudding.

That sounds a lot like the recipe for the Orange Julius. Toss in an egg or two to boost the protein level (in the days before the raw-egg prohibition)

1/2 can frozen OJ,1 cup water, 1 cup milk, a little sugar, a little vanilla and ice blended makes a nice refreshing frozen drink. Some alcohol added might be good but I always have this with the kids so I never tried it.

If I have a blender handy...One twelve oz can of frozen O J plus equal amount of Peach Schnapps, a bunch of ice...blend and try to avoid Brain Freeze.

I get a can of Five Alive and mix in maybe half a can of water. Love that stuff.

I stopped using it years ago, when you could no longer find a brand without those bitter Brazilian/Mexican oranges in it. They all taste like Donald Duck canned orange juice to me.

WOW! You just brought back some great memories for me. I remember Donald Duck unsweeted white grapefruit in a can. As a little kid I loved that stuff! Which annoyed my father as much as me drinking his Tab soda. (as you can tell he was diabetic and so I'd drink up all his stuff and leave my sugary kool-aid for last)

Which is too bad, because those container orange juices all taste cooked compared to the old frozen ones. And they don't seem to have frozen grapefruit juice much, either (which is still pretty good stuff).

I can't inagine that I drank it so much, and people still do, talk about acid reflux...anyone here still use it?
