I am still new to the forum so I am not able to reply to PMs or post pictures just yet. I suppose I should also post a more formal introduction so everyone can get to know a little about me.

The freezer is a 4 door top mounted compressor (I believe there are two different sizes on the 2 door model and I think this unit is VBD-12T). Seems to run well, compressor sounded to run smooth and temp was -10 on two different occasions that I saw it opperating.

I'm thinking of getting $1500 for it. I have done some shipping in the past (most recently a motorcycle I purchased from St Louis to Portland ME) so I'm comfortable doing that.

I've been obsessing over this site since I stumbled on it a few weeks ago! Thanks for the direction! I actually wound up buying a 77 kurbmaster tonight. It's been running as an ice cream mover. Bought it from a great older gentleman for 6k (asking 7). It comes with a decent size (2 doors) nelson freezer that sounded to be running smooth. I need it gone...just in case anyone is interested ;-) Thanks for any advice/opinions while I'm on the journey.

That should get you started but there are a bunch more so spend 3 or 4 days and search, then read a bunch they will help you to not waste money or make a big mistake.

Welcome to Road Food.
No two trucks are exactly the same even new from the factory.

And yes I know you said "similar quality" but there is a lot to check on any two trucks. Engine, Transmission, Millage, Tires, Length, Paint, Interior, Gauges "working or not" and the list goes on and on.

But if your asking if you can or at least should be able to buy, cut, install a slider window for 2 K hell yes. Challenger Windows and door in Indiana is a company that offers good custom made products and installation at a very good price. Lots of threads here on this topic, go to the top of the page and do a search.

Would you purchase a stock truck for 4k and cut a service window or a truck for 6k with an existing window. Both are 12ft p30s of similar quality. The one with the existing window is an ice cream truck.
