Only in NYC would you get away with "Breaking news" followed by "Break the news" that a $30 per person 1/2 split pizza (that's probably enough)... pizza party...that is "kind of unlimited...just keep bringing out the pies" sorta thing is possible...but will not be happening (and met with disappointment). Only in NYC.

I can't even read the article again without booze. I'll have whatever Eli was having...when he wrote all that.

Here is a post from their facebook page...made 15 minutes ago...

Thank you so much for all the inquiries regarding private parties at Di Fara. Due to the extreme high volume of calls and emails regarding this , we have decided to re-structure our plan and hold these parties on Tuesdays , which we are usually closed , instead . We will agree to one or two a month on a Wed or Thursday but many dates have already been requested , some duplicates. We are so honored and could have not predicted such a overwhelming response to our sharing this news publicly . We will need time to respond to each request individually as all need personal attention to negotiate a convenient date ,menu plan and confirmation . The minimum amount of people needed is 20 and we can seat 25 comfortably but have done parties of 30 (standing room only) . We will book parties on a first come , first serve according to time and date email was recieved . Thank you for your patience ......At this time we can not accept any new requests . All requests via phone or email that were recieved up until 8 a.m this morning will be accomodated ........

That does sound like it would be a great experience. I didn't notice in the article what is the least amount of people it takes to rent the place for the night.

Put the word out and you will have no shortage of folks to meet that minimum!

They had posted pictures and made mention of being closed for private parties on their facebook page.

So, the question is...who wants to do this?

I may be interested depending on when we do this.
(I still can't believe this is the little pizza shop I used to go to regularly when I lived 6 blocks away, many moons ago back in 88-90)
