The only school related song I remember is singing "School's Out" by Alice Cooper on the last day of elementary and middle school. Usually just the "no more pencils, no more books" part, as we ran screaming out of the building.

I learned as much on Saturday mornings listening to Schoolhouse Rock as I did in school. I gave a copy of the CD to my sister-in-law a few years ago when she was homeschooling my niece and nephew.

In grade school it was the wrath of the Sisters of the Holy Cross that motivated me, in High School it was the fists of the Christian Brothers, in College, it was my Father's wrath that was a great motivation to learn...songs wern't in the mix, sorry Mar!

I learned cursive writing with Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. Not the Suite, but the full symphony. College was a series of Mozart, Rachmaninoff, and Bach, depending on the subject. But other than our student teacher with Nutcracker, none of it was teacher-driven...apparently learning by music outside of music class was not a thing here.
