Dexter Weaver, the owner of Weaver D's Delicious Fine Foods in Athens, posted the following to Facebook this morning:

"Hello everyone. I am sorry to announce that we may be closing if we are not able to raise enough revenue to meet our budgets. We ask that the public support our business to save this business. If you have enjoyed our food for the last 26 years we ask that you support us now. We enjoy serving you and would like to contnue!" (sic)

This is a fantastic, proper meat-n-three, home of some excellent fried chicken and some of the best mac-n-cheese in the world. I plan to stop by for some of it on Friday (if I can find a parking place!), and hope everybody who can will also stop by in the next couple of weeks!

Oh, man, that's too bad! I'm making a trip over there, thanks for the heads up!

Weaver D's is in my top 5 for fried chicken in the USA. Fantastic stuff. Anytime I have been within 100 miles of the place, I would stop in. It would be a shame if they went under.
