I figured we were too far north to have coffee trees and the pods that fell off them didn't look like anything that could be converted into a beverage.

I was wrong. Apparently old timers, in hard times, took the seeds/beans/berries and toasted them to brew into coffee.

Has anyone ever tried coffee brewed from one of these trees? A little more info about the tree http://www.annarbor.com/h...lay-with/#.UGum7FGNY3w
