Guys get a life!"

Miss Wood said she was "shocked by his vulgar language" adding that his response was "not professional".
"Most of the chefs I know - many of them global celebrity names - would never treat food writers and bloggers, let alone customers, like that. It sets a bad example for the industry," she said.

Miss Wood visited Giannino in Dubai earlier this month with her friend, Italian chef Maurizio Pelli, paying more than £200 for a two-course meal followed by a shared dessert and a glass of prosecco each.
She reviewed the meal online last Saturday, but complained it was "rather odd" only a handful of wines were available.
When the waitress seemed confused by her order for prosecco, then brought a couple of wine glasses to the table, she wrote: "No thanks, we'd like champagne flutes please…If you've got them, why not offer them?"

Miss Wood - who moved to Dubai in 1999 from London - along with her companion declared the meal of pasta starters, pan-fried veal cutlets and grilled octopus was "exceptionally executed" but questioned whether the breaded veal Cotoletta Milanese - similar to an Austrian dish - and rhubarb crumble dessert were authentically Italian.
She ended her review by saying she was horrified by the prices with main courses costing up to £42 each, added: "The food may have impressed but for a beach club location on a casual strip of Dubai where the service requires fine-tuning, Giannino is pricing itself out of this market and potentially out of diners."

A day after her blog post, there was a scathing reply posted by Mr Brambilla, who has one Michelin star himself.
Beginning pleasently enough, he explained prosecco, which is originally from the Veneto region, is traditionally served in white wine glasses.

Then he turned his attention to the pricing issue and said a typical bottle of Barolo Cicala Aldo Conterno would cost him £42 in Milan but £162 in Dubai. He elaborated on the difference between Milanese and Austrian veal cutlets. But when he began explaining the octopus dressing, his comments took a nastier turn.

"The only squash at the table was attached to your neck," he wrote. Rhubarb, he said, had been imported to Italy in the 13th century and formed the basis of a traditional Italian drink, Rabarbaro Zucca. "The tradition is older than Campari," he declared. "Definitely Italian, especially a Milanese tradition, again something you ignore."

He finished by writing: "Go please to other restaurants in other locations, check them out but don't forget to wear first a condom on your tongue in order [to] contain the orgasm of your ignorance."

The row sparked a flood of traffic to Miss Wood's website, many supporting the blogger.

One comment, by Keren Bobker said: "I am stunned at the rudeness and arrogance of the restaurant. Perhaps they have forgotten without paying customers they are nothing?"

Andrew Christon, manager of the beach club, said: "His opinions are his own and are in no way representative of our team."

The club has invited everyone who posted a comment to dine for free at Giannino.

But Miss Wood said: "Should they reduce their pricing, I would return to the restaurant in Dubai. But I will never set foot in Giannino Milan unless I receive a public apology from Andrea."

http://www.telegraph.co.u...ft-a-bitter-taste.html
