First off, where are you located, and what does the healthe dept require?
Ice chest or mechanical refrigeration? You need to do a bit more research.

^I see that as being no different from using a regular push cart in regards to the top being opened a lot releasing cold air. How much is a basic generator enough to operate this? I'm not too fond of the generator idea as that it is two more expenses, generator itself, though it's a one time purchase but more importantly the gas to operate it.

I sell ice cream in Tennessee and it would not work for me. If you're selling you'll be opening the top all the time, letting the cold out. Buy a Honda generator. And have something solid to cover the top with when necessary. The glass top can be a good thing if people want to see your product. Which, for some reason, they do.

I haven't contacted the manufacturer.
I don't think it has cold plates.
It is just a regular glass top sliding door freezer. I'll have an umbrella in hopes of it being directly over the freezer...of course it also depends on where the sun is or going to be.

Is it cold plate? If not, I would doubt it.
If the top is glass you will get a lot of melting if any sunlight hits it. I have a trailer and light coming through the window softens my ice cream where it hits.

I will be starting an Italian Ice Pushcart Spring 2013. Was wondering if this will work just as good as any other pushcart(nelson cart etc) in regards of it staying cold for about 8 hours unplugged.
