We made it through , lots of tree damages , trampoline did a Wizard of Oz on us but was able to secure it to a tree while it was airborne at the height of the storm , out of power for four days but many others along the coasts of NY and NJ still sufferering

If you got a Starbucks nearby you can charge your cellphone and laptop accordind to my brother in law on electricity less Long Island.
No gas, etc., getting very ugly according to him.

We're trying to make the best of it. Our. Cell phones keep us in touch. We cannot only talk to all of you, but we confined where gas is available and ice. We're re also getting the names of friends less fortunate. Today we are helping two two of our friends who were flooded out of their homes.

I stayed open during the whole shebang, I bought a bunch of dry ice to keep things cool, heated with propane gas units....did $54.00 in biz, total for both days, lol, but I was determined to keep my sanity by staying open, while everything near and far seemed to be falling apart, it worked for me!
The tragedy in New York and Jersey is apalling, worse than Katrina?? I don't know, but gotta be as bad. Godspeed to all of you who were damaged by Sandy!

Four days... No power...cell phone sporatic at best...little gas, unless you wait in line half a day. Schools closed 'til Monday, at the earliest. Big tree limbs in our front yard just missed the house... But we're safe..and that's all that matters. Sending this by cell, while it's working.such devastation in our town. Still flooding and still gas fires burning.one house broke from its foundation and lan feed on a four lane bridge. Lots of pictures on brickpatch. Com

Great news! Considering the devestation around you, that is pretty amazing. Can't imagine how strong those winds must of been to bring down a tree of that size.

We're happy. There's enough snow for me to have to use a broom and a scraper to get the car cleared off for my Waffle House visit this morning. Please let it snow again on Friday, the opening day of pheasant season.

We still have power here, which is almost always a surprise if there's any breeze. Winds here are out of the northwest at 29 mph, with 37 degrees and very light snow.

My Sister just lost power in Matawan already.. With Irene it was 5 days without power.

These warnings are warnings we've never experienced. As long as the big bunch of kids in my house understand that this is serious....and they are not going anywhere...it's ok.
