GLBT seems to be popular in New York. I used one excellent "rule of thumb" tool to check; I looked up both GLBT and LGBT on Google, and found that LGBT is found in about 3 times as many pages as GLBT. On the other hand, I once shared webspace with PFLAG (Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians and Gays. Yeah, I know it doesn't track) on a site that gave cheap internet and later web accounts to not-for-profits in the 1990's.

How hard can it be to teach CTF how to use a camera?.........it's the same thing as what caused this party in in the first place...........Just point and shoot!

In my business, I have a LOT of contact with members of the GLBT community, so that was the first thing that came to mind, too.

Maybe you could answer a question for me, no big deal, just mild curiousity. Which is more proper, GLBT or LGBT? Maybe neither, or local convention or custom?

You mention GLBT. Here in La Crosse the local organization for gays calls themselves LGBT. The local head is a woman, and I've wondered if their putting the 'L' first is maybe just her own preference.

But I also wonder if there is not some political type manuevering, or oneupsmanship (so to speak), as I have heard that L women really do not like, have a disdain for, G men. I've no idea if that is true, or why it might be, but I've heard it said.

If this is too sensitive a topic I guess I will apologize in advance, but these days every topic seems more open to discussion, and PC adds needless baggage to everything. I said it's no big deal.

By the way, you can now register at some stores for a housewarming party( got an invitation to one with which store these people were registered at) This new thing is even more stupid.

But then of course there were those "Wesson Oil" parties from back in the sixties, where there was all kinds of revealing....I've never been to one, of course, just heard about 'em....

Yeah, I'd say if they're also having a baby shower, then just your smiling presence and maybe a card. Or, if you want, the edible arrangement would be good. If they're doing it instead of a baby shower, then probably a gift. 80 people?!? Good lord.

I had to look it up on Google, too. Seriously?! The most recommended method for finding out the gender of the baby is for everyone to bite into cupcakes filled with pink or blue filling at the same time. Apparently, you're supposed to have whoever does the ultrasound send the results directly to a bakery, so even the parents don't know until the cupcakes are bitten into. Good god. What (and, more importantly, why) will people think of next?

My sister in law is a little difficult and apparently was never told "NO" growing up. They just announced they were expecting a baby in April. We are truly happy for them. We were also told that we "MUST" attend a Gender Reveal Party in December. I had no idea what that was but Google was able to enlighten me. But I am still confused--do we bring a gift?

I was thinking about sending an Edible Arrangement or maybe giving them some kids books? Are we supposed to give a gift? She invited 80 people so I thought the Edible Arrangement may help....any ideas?
