I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. Ours was put off until today, since the matriarch of my son's wife's family had been sick and didn't want to spread it around (and Thanksgiving was to be at her house). We had quite a range of food: turkey & dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy, vegetable lasagna, parsnip & turnip purees, home-made bread, raw cauliflower, carrots & broccoli with dip, olives & sweet & dill pickles, & pumpkin puree, pecan & apple pies & caramel-apple pound cake, all with real whipped cream for dessert.

Just back from an Eastern Shore family Thanksgiving...Thanks Michael and I hope everyone here had their Thanksgiving day feast expectations, met!

I think this is the time and place for me to share a special moment (for me) with my RF friends.
In my day, mail from home to us serving in RVN tooks weeks and packages, if they arrived at all, took months.
Below is a photo taken today (Thanksgiving Day) of me sitting at my computer. I am wearing a Tee Shirt from My Army LT Son Justin...Mailed just a week ago from his FOB over there. I am look8ing at photos of him serving a special 'trucked in to their Base" Thanksgiving Dinner to the Troops in his unit. He posted 35 photos on facebook right after they ate. I saw them 20 minutes later (my delay, not his) and I posted this photo to show him his shirt in action, and that we had seen his "Dinner"

The technology takes some of the pain of seperation out of his not being here with his family.
Thanks for allowing me to share this memory with all of you.

Gawd Bless him and all the others over there. Nice to know they are getting good food. And with Skype you not only get a chance to chat, but see what each other is eating! When my son was married and we had the reception(for 150 ppl!) at our house.....my brother..who is wheelchair bound and lives too far away to travel here.......was offered a place and a laptop with Skype. He didn't stay long.but it was the idea that he could in some way participate with all the other memebers of the family

Back at you my friends!Got home just in time as Bob was basting the turkey with all the juices in a container i save for gravy-instead of using the juices in the pan. But God Bless him for trying, and no harm done......
