I'd try to prove the old joke wrong ("I'd farm until it was gone").
At my age, and on my fairly small farm, I think that I would outlive the money. But......then again, I have always liked airplanes, and if I got involved in that hobby, the money could be gone in 6 months!! Maybe it WOULD ruin my life, but I did buy a ticket!!!! Imagine, if tonight, somebody sees that they won, only to find out tomorrow that 100s of other people did too.......I remember that happening a few years ago. Good luck!!!

It happened last week on the PB drawing - 9 people matched All 5, but NONE matched the powerball. D'OH!!!!

Well after I claim the jackpot next week under my newly created LLC. I will pick up my new 2013 Prevost Quad Slide, and then on to the Audi dealer, but I am now leaning towards the A-8. However the Jaguar XJL is looking good too as does the Mulsanne by Bentley.

I will be starting in Maine and working my way through all 50 states and Canada touring the sites and visiting historical sites and RF places along the way.

Then next year I will start the CajunKing baseball tour, visiting ALL the MLB parks in one season.
The next year I will do the 32 in 17weeks. (NFL)
The year after that taking a round the world trip, heck that one might take several years to complete.

My bills would be paid off, my families homes and bills would be paid, I have several pet projects that would get funded. My families school bills would be set aside/paid off. I would buy a summer place somewhere in the north by a crystal clear lake with LOTS of fish, my winter place would be along the gulf coast. My spring place would be somewhere near the cherry blossoms of DC or somewhere in the south with the Magnolia Blossoms. My fall place would be in the NE and watch the leaves change colors and fall.

I would rebuild my collections and add on to the ones I have.

And then

I might save some $$$ if I have any left.

The only thing I'd do for sure if I won would be to arrange for McDonald's to be delivered 3 times a day to Wanderingjew.

I'll do better than that. I'd buy the Olsen Fish Company in Minneapolis where all the lutefisk is made and gift it to wanderingjew to run.

Winning that kind of money is un-imaginable but my first thought would be to buy a home somewhere in the Country where I had a running creek/stream flowing thru and lots of trees.
I'd buy a brand new 4x4 truck such as a Toyota or another Chevy S-10 and a HD motorcycle.
Of course I would have to buy a Vintage Rolex GMT Master 2.
Every day I would have a massage.
I'd also buy a BIG screen TV with ultra surround sound and the best and fastest Computer and cell phone available.
The Wife of course could buy whatever she wanted!

I'll build a huge, fancy, top of the line kitchen with a few bedrooms and of course a computer room.

The kitchen would be used by traveling chefs stopping by to cook me a meal.

It should be sparkling clean most of the time because I'll be eating out the rest of the time.

I forgot about the line of garages I'd attach to my kitchen house... home to my assorted vehicles.

The estimate has been revised upward 10% to $550 million...hopefully that's enough extra for those of you who've held off buying a ticket because the jackpot wasn't large enough.

I would have dogs again.......I would travel to relatives homes( all in the states) I would help Al run his restaurants, for fun. I would be generous and open to people as I always was before hard times hit us...and back at the people who support us.I wouldnt have a huge house-something comfortable to cook in( although state of the art kitchen) where we could all share the experience, but have enough bedrooms to accomadate many guests!

We3ll, We bought some Powerball for my department here at work.My brother in law in New York is in a pool with 35 other people were he works.
If i got any of that money, I'd retire.I'd give money to charity, maybe do volunteer work,and either remodel or build a new home, nothing big.Just something simple for me and the cats.I'd travel to Europe and visit relatives in Germany and check out the family history book.
Maybe I'd buy some property and take in animals,and foster kids,who could help me with the critters,call the place Holly's House. I would just like to have a little of that money,don't even need the whole thing for me to be happy.

Powerball officials are estimating that 105,000 tickets will be sold every second today.

I think the lump sum payout is something like 2/3 of the jackpot; gotta sign up for the 20-year installment plan to claim the full amount. Figuring 50% goes to taxes a single winner would walk away with nearly $170,000,000, and that's probably conservative on my part.

If so, and my calculations are correct, the net prize after the split and taxes should only be around $165 Million based on a gross of $550 Million.

I bet a dollar when the net-after-taxes prize is > $177,000,000. Now that the projected prize is > that twice that, I'll bet $2.
