As a landlord I would have given them first chance to buying the property.

To spring it on them as they did was just not right.

Urth Caffé? They're kicking out a landmark restaurant to allow a chain to buy it out from under them?

Let's get rid of Tadish Grill and sell the location to Starbucks!

I'll now boycott all Urth Caffé locations.

The owner(s) of the property could have at least had the decency to advise the The Cottage's owner as to what was going on rather than just spring the surprise sale of the property to another person who plans to open their own restaurant. Disgusting!

I have only been to California once, back in 1999. I was lucky enough to eat at The Cottage. Great place..this is sad.
