I never had to walk 20 miles uphill both ways to school and back. It was four miles each way, but it was only about a mile uphill going. Coming back was always a blast down the big hill.
Re:Northeasterners: all ready for the latest STORMPOCALYPSE? (ken8038)

Some wildly fluctuating snow totals from this storm. We got about 10 inches, while parts of Long Island (40 miles east) got 30 inches, and my sister in Brooklyn (in between us and Long Island) reports only about 6 inches.

The curious thing, my block, which is a 1/4 mile dead end street (which the real estate people seem to think is a cul-de-sac) usually is one of the last streets in town to be plowed. We joke that we're not even sure it's on the town map. This time around, it was plowed twice overnight, and is down to blacktop already. Either somebody greased somebody over at the Town Yard, or one of those guys moved on the block recently.
Re:Northeasterners: all ready for the latest STORMPOCALYPSE? We got 8-10" last night, roads are already pretty much clear.
Re:Northeasterners: all ready for the latest STORMPOCALYPSE?
