I hadn't thought of these in years, but the maple flavored Buns were my Fathers favorite candy. I haven't seen them locally lately, but I wasn't looking either. If I do run across some, I'll get one just for that rush of happy childhood memories.

They are available here in Cincinnati at Jungle Jim's; in fact, I just had one last week!

Most of the Big Lots stores here carry them, but on a hit-or-miss basis. Like all candy bought at Big Lots, be sure to check the freshness date; some of their stuff can be way past its prime.

As an adult I'd never touch one: too sweet.

They included a hockey card as a premium in 1992-93. I never did finish the set of cards though since the Buns were so overwhelmingly sweet.

I remember them - a big patty of milk chocolate covered peanuts with a big wad of some hyper-sweet nougat in the middle. As a kid, they were quite a treat. As an adult I'd never touch one: too sweet.

they also have them at Meijer super markets here in Illinois. My all time favorite candy bar.

Hi does anyone remember bun candy bars? Do they still make them?

If you search Bun Candy Bar Pearson, several Mail Order hits come up. Also every now and the I uesd to see then at the Walmart in Fort Pierce when I lived dow in Fla.

Well thank you dcosbey, My Dad used to love those. Here is another question, I seem to remember when posting on roadfood forum page that you could see it on the from page instead of having to go back to unrelated topics. Maybe I am doing something wrong??

The Bun was made originally by the Wayne Candy Co in Ft Wayne, Indiana. They no longer make the original Bun, but Pearson Candies makes a Bun bar in several flavors, including maple. The Pearson version is available at my local Walgreens.
