I used to purchase Black Cat licorice flavoured bubble gum back in the sixties. It was delicious!

It was carried by very few variety stores in my neck of the woods though since it was an import from England. I haven't seen it for decades and I believe it's no longer made. Pity.

Does anybody remember Big Buddy Bubble Gum? It came in one reeeaaaalllyy long piece and you ripped off what size you wanted. I remember it came in grape, which my sister loved. It wasn't all that soft, though.

Bubble Yum was my favorite. In the classic flavor. I couldn't understand watermelon bubble gum. Ick.

I think you still get that toothpaste bubblegum here! I had it not that long ago along with Hubba Bubba and spaghetti gum! Good stuff!

I have never had razzles, but I do know that they sell them at Walgreens.

I miss that toothpaste bubblegum! My brother and I had those all the time. Up until a few years ago, a candy store in our mall was selling them. Now, I am trying to find out is anyone makes them anymore. You would be surprised what they still make anymore, I am always running into websites that sell retro candy.

Razzles and Gatorade Gum are still alive and well and for sale - at least, in all the Walgreen's I've been in.

Bubble Yum was really good and sugary. Hubba Bubba was good too, a different consistency, soft yet rubbery almost. I miss Razzles, Freshnup and the Gatorade gum. Thanks for the "sweet" memories.

This gum from the 80's I remember was in a toothpaste tube Strawberry and super sweet and very soft loved it but I don't know the name.

His Everlasting Gobstopper was a jawbreaker of sorts, and what that name connotes doesn't make me want one, even though they sell something with that name.

This isn't really soft gum, but I was pleasantly surprised last week to find my local White Hen Pantry selling Blackjack chewing gum. I grabbed a couple packs. I understand that the company now and then cooks up a batch of Blackjack, but it isn't a regular item. I love the licorice flavor, but alas, it doesn't last very long. I wish someone could develop a really long-lasting gum. I think Willy Wonka did in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but that was just a book.

Me too, Gatorade gum was great, especially the first 30 seconds of it. Unfortunately the flavor disappeared quickly after that. It was a unique flavor. Wish it was still around...

My sister has always told me that history repeats itself, so mayble we'll see it again sometime.

Does anyone remember Bananaberry gum? It was either Bubble Yum or Bubbalicious. It had two colors - yellow on the inside to represent the banana (I believe it was artificial, not natural, banana color!). I used to love this stuff back in the mid-80's, but alas, it doesn't seem to exist anymore.

I remember the Bazooka in a tube but NEVER tried it!

Just wanted to let you guys know I have a truly GREAT co-worker! After speaking with you about Razzles, I asked him if he had seen them around recently. This guy is a candy conisseur(sp?)he keeps a drawer FULL of candy for all to enjoy, never asks for a cent but your welcome to drop some change. He searches out for the stuff you just don't find everyday. Being in a college I think he likes to freak the students out by buying off the wall stuff. One example, Zagnuts. Our students have never heard of such, and he hears alot of "What the h--l is this stuff. It's funny. Anyway, in my mailbox upstairs I was left a package. 1 bag of regular Razzles, 3 bags of Tropical, and 2 bags of Sour. Now when did these flavors come about??? They were wrapped in a "Sweets From Heaven" Bag.

Also I saw where Hubba Bubba is back but not in the classic flavors, there duos of sorts.

Once there was a time when Topps products could be found nearly
anywhere, and in Windsor, Canada, where I was was from, mom-and-pop
stores that I used to go to on many street corners, loading up on
O-Pee-Chee baseball cards to take home to Florida: those were great
vacations!
When the "Where's the Beef?!" craze was on, Wendy's did lend its
name to a bubble burger once.
And does anyone remember this "Topps Flop" : Bazooka bubble gum
in a "toothpaste" tube (circa 1983-85)?

Wow, Did you jog my memory. I totally remember Gold Rush gum and Big Buddy, too. (Growing up we had a penny candy store down the street that used to sell all of that good stuff). My Brother and his friends used to have contests to see who cut fit the most big buddy's in their mouth.

I also remember Bubble burgers - it was a big wad of gum that looked like a hamburger. They came in a plastic container that looked like the styrofoam containers McDonalds used to use.

In elementary school gum was forbidden so we all chewed on wax lips - remember those! Then they had wax harmonicas, wax tubes filled with flavored sugar water, etc. I haven't seen any of that stuff in a long time.

Oh yeah, "Gold Rush" came in the little white bags as I recall. I beleive we have discussed this before but I LOVED all of the "Adams" brand stick gums, especially sour cherry, but then there was the sour apple, oh and the clove, oh I just loved them all.

For a moment I thought I did, but i believe Super Bubble had a long "rope" which came in green apple, grape and regular. The "Big League" is still active around here in grape and regular. My 8 year old thinks he's a better ball player when he has a pack. Although he usually gets his way in getting it, I shudder at paying $1.19 for two mouthfuls.

According to "Food of the 80's" ( http://www.inthe80s.com/food/b.shtml ), Bubble-Eez was the softest bubble gum in a 6-pack "pill pouch". Was that what you were thinking of?

Gosh, it seems like you have it. I remember Bazooka came out with a soft "pack" of gum sometime back but not sure if they still make it or not. The only other gums I could add would be Super Bubble, and Dubble Bubble, but they weren't really soft. Hubba Bubba was my favorite of the 3 above because it did not stick all over your face when your award winning bubble popped! Razzles is my fav of all time....still.
