(magicalbeing)

Have you looked at the knox gelatin box near the jello section at the grocery store ? I'm almost sure this is what your talking about. http://www.kraftfoods.com/knox/ It is presented in a glass. My mother used to make it all the time. It has 3 layers. There is a picture of this desert on the knox box. I will be sure to call my mother for the recipe. I know its topped with whipped cream . I'm almost guessing you use strawberry jello with cream or milk for the first layer ( creamy and firm very light pink compared to the other layers ). Honestly I don't know though. Every time I try to click on the recipe link for Knox gelatin it brings up nothing. The box has the recipes for the two other deserts pictured on the box. Just not the 3 layered desert. The box says to go to Knoxgel.com for the rest of there recipes but brings you back to the kraft site where the link doesn't work. Go to the grocery store and check out the picture on the box and let me know if this is what your talking about.

RE: Help - 3 Layer gelatin dessert ? (pritypetal)

Hi
this is my first ever entry into a forum but I just couldn't resist responding to your plight. I had to do most of the cooking when I was a kid because my mom and dad both worked. Therefore as one of 4 kids home alone most of the time mom bought stuff that worked unfortunetly I may have to bust the balloon a bit. I do believe it was made by Jell-O But you are right it didn't look the same it was in a larger box. It was made by emptying the single pouch of poder into a bowl. Adding Milk and blending with a mixer for a certain length of time. You would then pour this into your glasses or bowl and refrigerate. The setting up was where the layers occured. As it set the layers were the settling out of the ingrediants heavier being on the bottom most opaque by then clear, and the frothy stuff on top.
Hope this helped a little, it was interesting how something like this could kick up so many memories.

RE: Help - 3 Layer gelatin dessert ? (undergroundnurse)

Yes, I remember this. It was called 3-2-1 Jello and the box was pink. It showed the three layers. I haven't seen it in the store for a long time but found it in a Mexican store. The writing was in spanish, but the picture on the front was the same. Check Mexican specialty stores that sell tamales and other ethnic foods.

RE: Help - 3 Layer gelatin dessert ? (DebC)

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forum, and am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I'd like to start off by contributing a recipe.

I have the recipe for this nostalgic dessert. I even made it with Sugar Free Jello and it worked.

I got this recipe off of the internet back in 1999, off of a website that no longer exists. I'm glad that I printed it.

Debbie in Indiana

1-2-3 Jello

1 Box Jello (3 oz.) any flavor
1 envelope of Dream Whip
1 C. boiling water
1 C. ice cold water

Mix Jello and Dream Whip together. Empty into your blender, add boiling water. Blend at lowest speed for 30 seconds until mix is dissolved. Turn speed up to high and blend for one minute longer. Add the cold water, and continue blendingat highest speed one minute longer.

Fill each glass only half full at once, then fill glasses completely in same order. Chill until set, about 3 hours.

Makes 4 2/3 C. servings I poured mine into pretty wine glasses.

RE: Help - 3 Layer gelatin dessert ?
