Anyone every heard of metwurst (German cold-smoked pork sausage) or of dobberstein, another pork sausage? I have info on metwurst from Mineola, IA and on dobberstein from West Bend, IA. Just trying to track more stories about this stuff (or any others anyone might have info on) for an Iowa place-based food survey. thanks! Riki

A friend of mine in Cincinnati oftens refers to "mets" ("metts"?) and I've had them at his house...could they be the same thing as metwurst? TJ? Wally? Whatever they are they're good off the grill... Brad
