sautee Asian veggies

I got the veggies cut (onions, broccoli florets, zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, celery).  I will sautee them in butter on low heat.  I generally use soy sauce and onion powder.  What adjustments would you suggest?

    I do mine in a wok but a sautee pan will work.  Preheat the wok or pan until it's really hot.  Add canola (or vegetable) oil.  Add the vegetables and stir constantly.  Add the onion powder and soy sauce at the end.  No garlic?  I would throw in a clove or two while stir-frying the vegs.  Fresh minced ginger is good too!

    A sprinkling of sesame seeds would be a nice touch.

    I'd just observe that the different vegetables cook at different speeds.  So there's a risk that some things would overcook and some undercook.  I'm not an expert, but I'd think you'd start with the onions and celery, move on to the peppers and broccoli, finish with the zucchini and mushrooms. 
     
    And it helps if everything is cut roughly the same size.

    Or sesame oil.  At the end, of course.

    Or try a quality Fish Sauce (the original ketchup/catsup) in lieu of the soy sauce, or use a bit of both.

    Definitely fresh ginger and garlic.
     
    If using fish sauce, a sprinkling of sugar for balance.
     
    A couple of drops of toasted sesame oil to finish is also good.

    agree on the sesame oil--a little goes a long way---i use grape seed to cook and then drizzle with the sesame toward the end and lately i have been using roastd garlic instead of powder or raw--LOVE the flavor--goes good with the sesame oil! ---but i must add--i saw the pic on facebook and they LOOKED wonderful Paul!

    Yep, I would suggest timing based on the veg.....start celery and broccoli..2 mins.add onions and peppers........2 mins add the rest...about 4 mins       .all in a wok on high high heat with some oil.....garlic for the last min
     
    nice splashes at the end......sesame oil......balsamic vinegar........rice wine vinegar.......fish sauce...Each has a nice overtone
