This weekend, my performing arts company - Arts United of Washington (www.ArtsUnitedDC.org) is performing as part of the Capital Fringe Festival. If I haven't mentioned to you all before, our company presents original works that combine dance with live music and theatre. For the Capital Fringe Festival, we're performing excerpts from past shows, but also some brand new works including this year's premiere of "Pretty Little Thing" and a contact improv piece set to Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah." Our live musical group, who is also known as the Dan Roberts Band, is one of the most innovative group of musicians in the city.

We didn't get into the festival last year, so we're very excited about performing as a part of one of DC's largest performing arts festival. Only in its second year, the Capital Fringe Festival's mission is to spotlight emerging artists and companies here in the DC metro area. The venues are located mostly around downtown/Penn Quarter/Mt.Vernon Square/GalleryPlace area of DC.

We're performing at the Mead Theatre Lab at 916 G. St. NW - near both the Gallery Place Metro and Metro Center.
Friday at 6:15pm
Saturday at 10:45pm (which is when a critic will be there - so we're really pushing this show)
Sunday at Noon
Monday at 9:30pm

Our show runs about 45minutes.

If you're a resident of the DC metro area or visiting DC, I'd love to see you there. Or if you have friends or family here, let them know about our show.
If you can come, be absolutely sure to say hello to me, I'll be the singer. Catch me after the show. I can't wait to meet you.

Thank you,
~John

PS here's some more info: Click www.ArtsUnitedDC.org/Performances.htm to see our full advertisement.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.capfringe.orgor at their box office at 507 7th Street NW Washington, DC

I don't normally plug my stuff, but the success of this show could determine if we're able to keep the company afloat.

For those that can't come, I know you'll be with me in spirit.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Congratulations in Advance !! It sounds like a great program and I wish you well! I don't know if "Break a Leg" is the appropriate encouragement, but if not please substitute whatever is "correct", and have a great time !!

I hope the opening went well for you. Live the moment and don't pay any attention to the critics, what the hell do they know. Enjoy, Chow Jim

            opening went great.
Since we happened to get a positive review, I think the critic was brilliant - well, only 4.5 out of 5 - so, maybe he wasn't so brilliant (LOL)
Anyway, you all can read the review here: http://dctheatrescene.com/2007/07/22/en-route/#more-690

One more show to go tomorrow night - then sleep

Wish I could have seen the show. I see you did
              Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." I love Cohen's music.
              Continued success and...

And why do they say, "break a leg?" I always thought that was dumb.
