some wierd kind of wedding candy....

On a recent post about Italian weddings, I began to remember those candy almonds that are wrapped up in mesh netting. Then, I remembered an accompanied candy: same pastel color coating, but a small piece of cinnamon bark inside, and sort of squiggled exterior. Sort of like a tiny sweet hard pastel cheeto!

What the heck are those things????

Delicious: Cannellette. Sometimes when you buy italian honey balls, they place some of these candies on it, candy coated fennel, cinnamon bark,almonds.

Actually the website didn't mention "cannellette", but the things I'm talking about are in the Confetti Antica Dragee Mix, the bumpy white one. So they're Genovese??

Cannellette are the Cinnamon Coral Dragees, it says on the website, the name in smaller font.

The italian company that produces them is listed.

THanks! I got fooled when it said they are "coral shaped" (whatever that means!) Now I wonder about those fennel dragees. OK fennel seed, I sort of get it. And pine nut (pignoli )dragees, that's a new one.
