I want a really sour sourdough starter and the one I have been using since October is not sour, anyone want to share a recipe?

Send me some dough next summer when I'm back in SF--I'll sit it on the window sill until it starts to ferment and send it back to you. That's pretty much how the '49'ers did it. And I honestly doubt you can get the same flavor using commercial yeast. You can, however, order sourdough starter from the Bay Area, supposedly incorporating local fermenting critters: Lactobacillus San Francisco. Here's one source: http://www.leeners.com/sourdough.html . They are in Ohio near you, but "Gold Rush Sourdough Starter" is also sold in San Francisco (in every tourist haunt). But if you want the real thing from my window sill there'll be payback--some ham from Kentucky (ought to go great with sourdough incidentally).
