I don't know anything about Chicago shrimp, but for fried shrimp in a very casual, Roadfoody kind of place, I would recommend Jumbo's in the 'hood in Miami. It's close to an I-95 exit. The conch fritters are very good, too. http://www.jumbosrestaurant.com/ I enjoyed the shrimp from La Camaronera's Fish Box Food Truck, but that definitely is not Chicago-style. They have a take-out and stand-up-only restaurant in Little Havana. Here's the website for both the truck and the restaurant: http://garciabrothersseafood.com/

I must confess that I haven't been there in a few years, but the same guy owns and runs it, so I presume it is still good. Did you notice "New York Style Ribs" on the menu? What is that?

I see it is still the same ..... A number of years ago while in Orlando & Tampa, i tried several restaurants for fresh seafood. I found none of the high volume 'tourist' establishments severed fresh. It was all frozen breaded shrimp & oysters the same that you can buy a any grocery store. I did not find good fresh fried seafood until I got back to North Florida and south Georgia. ... I'm sure there are restaurants in south Florida that serve good fresh seafood, but not the high volume 'tourist' traps.
