i just got back from a six day trip to ct, ri, and ma with roadfood as my culinary guide. i made a fair number of stops int rhe six days and her is what i came up with on my visits on a scale of 5 pepe 5 the best! iggys 3.5 allie' donuts 4.5 durgin park 3.5 essex seafood 4.5 woodmans 4.5 needless to say, i did some fine eating.

Sounds like you did indeed do some fine eating. I've been to both Pepe's and Iggy's (the Narragansett bracnh open during the summer only - which one did you go to?). I'd agree with Pepe's - it's probably the best thing I've ever eaten and I thought Iggy's is great too, although I've only had the Iggy burger and Doughboys as I have a seafood allergy (also preventing me from trying Woodman's and Essex Seafood). Need to make it to Allie's next time I'm in RI.
