Thanks Mayor. I hadn't heard that. Fortunately, we don't eat chili in the summertime. It is usually what I send in the lunchbox to school.

It is included in the huge recall of canned products from the Castlleberry Meat Processing company that is underway now (July 2007) The news report said the recall applied only to the canned chili at SnS, NOT the chili prepared from "Scratch/Mix" in the individual restaurants. This list of recalled products has expanded to over 90 products, with some store and restaurant brands included. Susan- There is a thread about Red Robin in this forum somewhere. I will say my experience with that chain has been dismal. It is pricey (for a Burger joint), very noisy (Loud Music makes conversation difficult) and the furniture looks and feels like it came from IKEA (not for big folks) and is packed closely together so that you are bumping elbows constantly if the place is near full. The food is about the same as a Ruby Tuesday's or other similiar place. We will not go into a Red Robin again. Darn - there goes my roadfood door prize I was getting for Al - a can of S&S chili to go along with the burgoo.

Larry, Bushie bought a case of the SnS Chili the last time he was up here. I think he ate it all before flying back to Austin. Come to think of it, I haven't heard from him since But then no one who flew on that S W Airlines flight has been able to speak since either... Something about GREEN-Smoke in the Cabin

That's the good news. The bad news is that they still have 14 of them open in the area. You know what really makes me mad about that is that they moved a great independently owned Gyro shop named the Souvlaki Palace out of there to put that chain in and now it is closed. I'm sure they will find another national piece of junk to go in there since the whole University area ia becoming one big chain. Even Long's bookstore is now just a Barnes and Noble.

S&S is always busy here in Daytona. food & service is always good, but you have to get at least a double.

I didn't realize they got rid of Souvlaki Palace. I never ate at the Souvlaki Palace up there, but I used to eat often at the one that was downtown.
