recommend this place wholeheartedly. cheap, fresh, delicious, and tons of character. amazing fried food served in a converted garage in the outlying part of the city. 1135 forest avenue.

The best fried fish filets I've ever had were in Portland in a joint on an old wharf not far from the Nova Scotia ferry dock. I dont remember the name of the place, but it was grundgy, steamy, and dank inside; the picnic tables out on the pier were were the place to eat. The filets were fresh, never greasy, and perfectly done - the only problem was fighting off the damn seagulls. Cheers, John
