They don't seem to have any data to support the thesis that drive-throughs are any less popular than before (at least, I didn't see it).

One national chain around here seems to have done away with having separate cashiers and servers for the drive-throughs.  Boy, does that slow things down.

I very seldom use a drive through window, and very often as I leave the place, I see the same cars in the drive through line that were there when I went in!

I usually make eye contact with a driver in a car near the back of the line when I'm walking inside, then when I walk out & they moved up 2 spots I smile & wave at them. then I laugh.

Drive through s around here are very very slow and prone to errors. It's really not worth it unless you forgot to put on your pants or something when you left the house.

When I'm done with a day's work and I want to pick something up to take home I wish all restaurants had drive throughs.

I'd love to be able to pick up a samosa or real taco from a window.  A container of fresh pasta or a gyro!

I hate getting out of my car on the way home from work.

If you forgot to put on your pants, I question whether you should even think about using the drive-thru.  See: http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNE.../04/02/8979056-cp.html

Since I almost always hit Jack in the Box after midnight, I don't have a choice. It's the drive-through or nothing.

I can't remember the last time I hit up a place that has a drive through anymore that I don't know how fast or slow they move anymore. I haven't had any fast food with drive throughs, or at least that I can remember, since early 2006. When I changed my eating habits I dropped it all together and haven't looked back. Maybe with the exception of 5 Guys if you count that as fast food, which I don't particularly.

Every so often I do get a craving for some tacos from Taco Bell. I know it is terrible Tex-Mex but sometimes I just get that craving. I do also get a craving for Rally's/Checker's fries every so often but it usually goes away after a little while. Would potentially go to Wendy's or Burger King if I am in a pinch, but would rather starve than go to the Golden Arches.

Oh those crazy Canadians I don't blame them though, they've only got one choice:

The two FIVE GUYS in this area do not have a drive-thru window or curb-side service of any type.  The Culver's do.

We usually use the drivethru at White Castle in Eastgate and it normally moves pretty well as long as you are not there at rush hours, but you do have to check your orders - they mix things up or hear things wrong quite often.

see, I'm a weirdo about hot fries, so I almost never go through a drive-through

I gave up on fries a while back at White Castle - all I ever get are their hamburgers, and sometimes if I want to go nuts I will get a chocolate shake.

I like my orders correct, so I choose not to drive through, lol!  In my experience, I get one in 10 orders wrong inside, but one in 5 wrong in drive through, and I am usually home by the time I realize it's wrong.

Same here.  I rarely use a drive-thru.  Even in bad weather I would rather walk in and watch my food get made and bagged correctly.

Twice at the local Wendy's I walked in saw the line and left. I got in my car ordered at the drive thru, payed, parked, went back in and laughed at the suckers still in line as I sat down to eat.
I guess it may be true that the drive thru orders come before walk in orders as someone pointed out on this board a few weeks ago.
