Does it produce any particular emotions in any of you?   Because it has made me (1) wince; and (2) giggle.

Yeah. I had memories of fishing for eels in Lake Whitney in Hamden, Connecticut as a little boy. I winced when remembering the bites from those sharp little eel teeth. But, as it happened to everyone I wasn't at all giggly.

Nancy, since I am still really only nine years old on the inside, it did make me wince and giggle.  Glad to know I'm not alone!

It looked painful- as if you had to pull the skin off, that's what it would look like underneath.  So yeah, I winced.  And crossed my legs.

I missed it.  Do I really want to see it?

While I won't fault those who enjoy Eel, I must admit it did NOT trigger my appetite! I'll Pass, Thank You. Please send me 4 dozen Oysters on the half-shell to enjoy while you peel your eel.

The photo and the lengthy description of the eel supplier in the 500 Things Book are the rare food things that have made me queasy. And i say this as one who loves the Bizarre Foods T.V. show and one who has eaten grasshoppers and catepillars in Mexican places

I'm with you, Mayor - at first I thought it was perhaps a very skinny rattlesnake until I saw the peel (or skin or what)

Not for me - but I too could jump on some raw oysters right now - by the way - what is the latest report on the shrimp and oyster catch in the Gulf?  The last  I heard was that the testing was going well and they were safe for consumption but I've not seen any to purchase so far......

I'll get rid of the 500 pound gorilla- It looks like a skinless boner.
