Louis As to who has the best, I can't say. They all taste the same to me. But a pie expert like Buffetbuster can discern the differences. A few years ago, when making his year end "best" choices, he thought the chess pie at the Bon Ton Mini Mart in Henderson, KY was the maybe the best pie he ate that year. That was a surprise to me; to my way of thinking, it was just another chess pie. Thanks Louis! Bon Ton Mini Mart does indeed make an excellent chess pie, right there with Sylvan Park in Nashville for the best Ihave ever had. I will dig around and see if I can find a couple photos of these versions.

love2bake- That is a gorgeous slice of pie! Which do you like better, your lemon chess or plain chess pie?

Thank you! And that's a tough question. I'd probably lean toward the lemon, but this plain one is a delicious, mellow pie, and I had all the ingredients on hand--very easy to put together on a whim.
