Anyone Remember Whip n' Chill?
Mix the powder with milk in a blender, pour in bowls and refrigerate for an hour or two and you had a mousse-like dessert (before mousse was in every restaurant)

defintiley remember it! Was a great dessert! Man--does this site really bring back all the memories of my youth! LOL!

My sister gave Whip n' Chill to my Mom as one of her Christmas gifts last year (bought from Vermont Country Store) and she hasn't made any yet. I remember eating it and liking it okay as a kid, but I preferred the texture and chocolatey-ness of cooked chocolate pudding more. I guess I'll have to bug my Mom to make the Wn'C before this Christamas rolls around, or my sister'll be upset.

Do I remember Whip and Chill!  My mother was famous for a cake she made with Strawberry Whip and Chill and Dream Whip (another powdered mix -- "just like whipped cream").  She layered white cake with Strawberry Whip and Chill, Dream Whip and fresh strawberries until it was a mile high -- looked beautiful and tasted great!

I remember this!  The strawberry was our favorite.  My mom used to put a spoonful of strawberry jam in the bottom of each cup.  Probably full of chemicals and who-knows-what, but it tasted great.
 

I AVIDLY collect vintage cookbooks, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a Whip 'n Chill recipe booklet at our local library's book sale a few months back.  Prior to I had never heard of it.  Must have been popular though, at least that's the indication from the cookbook.  Best $0.10 I spent that day!

Whip n'Chill was delish, I liked the chocolate and raspberry best. Spray whipped cream was always swell on top. Does anyone remember a chocolate syrup aerosol can that was brown, had a rounded cap, and as I recall looked like a soldier? There was also another aerosol can that sprayed either vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry foamy stuff into milk, I think it may have been called Jack Frost or something like that.  

Funny, Ed-this was way ahead of their time, meaning chocolate and rasperry. Everyone is all over this  in today's market....

Dr. Oekter makes a variety of mousse mixes that are very good. Especially for a very light dessert. I never had whip n chill but is sounds similar...

My grandmother used to make a dessert for her card party:  layers of one flavor of whip and chill, and butterscotch pudding, topped with dream whip in a fancy parfait glass.  At the time, probably considered very elegant.  I do remember liking the butterscotch pudding a lot.
 
 

Oh yes, we used to buy this.Had it many times as a kid. Momma also bought Dream Whip, and an icebox cake dessert from Pillsbury or Betty Crocker.This had graham cracker crumbs, and a mix.She would make it and place it in the freezer.It came in Lemon and Chocolate,and maybe vanilla.In any case I liked it.That was back in the 1960s.
