The Great Steakhouses?
In my opinion, the greatest steakhouse on the planet is my own kitchen/patio.
My wife and I can turn out a better USDA Prime, dry-aged porterhouse than ANY restaurant in the country. In fact, with my Brenham, Texas, rancher relative's grass-fed Longhorn beef, and my expertise on the cooking end --- steak can NOT be purchased in a restaurant that even comes close.
BUT, if one feels the need to visit a restaurant, then
Peter Luger's in New Yawk City does an acceptable job. We have been there numerous times --- and the steak is always good, and the attitudes of the employees are ALWAYS less than pleasing to us educated Southern types.
There you have it: two choices. Make your own because a good steak is like a good woman -- properly raised, properly aged, and properly prepared, there is NOTHING better on Planet Earth.
